Webmaster

Welcome aboard, Webmaster!

As the Troop webmaster, there are a few roles and responsibilities that you will fulfill to earn the title of “Webmaster” and earn a pretty cool position-specific patch. When you get a chance, please check out this Webmaster video here: https://Troopleader.scouting.org/webmaster/. I have added a more detailed list of roles and responsibilities below.

As the Troop 3/1003 Webmaster, you are responsible for:

  • Keeping the Troop website content up to date with information needed by the Troop.
  • Maintaining the Troop’s email distribution lists, YouTube channel, and security systems.
  • Ensuring that the information posted on the website is correct and that members’ and leaders’ privacy is protected.
  • Working with the Historian, Librarian, Outdoor Activities Coordinator, Troop Committee, and others to publish stories and keep information up to date.
  • Posting Troop photos for at least one event per month to the Troop website.
  • Working with the Troop to gather the information needed to write at least one story per quarter.

As the Troop 3/1003 Webmaster, you will:

  • Set a good example to all other scouts.
  • Enthusiastically and correctly wear the Scout uniform.
  • Live your life by the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Show Scout spirit at all times in your everyday life.

To ensure compliance with all Scouts BSA policies, you will keep your parent/guardian in the loop on all communications to adult leadership and adult leadership will do the same.

The job of Webmaster is pretty fun and adult leadership will be working alongside you to fulfill all of the responsibilities above. Together, we’ll continue to build upon the great foundation that we have in place.
