Camp Daniel Boone offers the following opportunities:
Base Camp (this is “traditional” summer camp, and include a first year program for newly cross-over scouts): $440
Backpacking Trek (must be at least 13): $480
It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that participants take part in some form of conditioning prior to arrival to camp, as trails in Western North Carolina are rugged. We recommend long day hikes with a weighted pack and/or weekend backpacking trips for your unit’s springtime activities. Individual exercise also helps tremendously.
Boonesboro Village (must be at least 13): $465
Ropes Trek (must be at least 14): $540
Zip and Splash Trek (must be at least 13 and between 100-250lbs): $640
Five Rivers, Five Days Trek (must be at least 13, they will not earn the White Water Rafting badge): $640
Animal Science Merit Badge: $100 (off site cost)
Horsemanship Merit Badge: $100 (off site cost.
If Animal Science and Horsemanship are taken together, the cost is $175.
Day Whitewater rafting trips: $60 per person. Must pass swim test AT CAMP. Day Zip lining: $30
Adults and Scout Leaders: Scoutmaster Sharpshooters (one leader per unit), Scoutmaster Golf (unlimited leaders), Scoutmaster’s Dutch Oven Cookoff (unlimited leaders), Scoutmaster’s Merit Badge, First Aid, CPR, Wilderness First Aid, IOLS, Safe Swim Defense, BSA Lifeguard, Adult Trail to Eagle, Climb On Safely, Nap On Safely. And much more!
January 15, 2023: 1/3 of camp fee due.
March 15, 2023: 2/3 of camp fee due – all camp fees must be paid before Scouts can be registered for merit badges. Any scouts not up to date at this point are at risk of being dropped from the registration process.
May 15, 2023: 3/3 final payment due – a late fee of $25 will be charged if not paid by this date.
All parents will receive a Square invoice that they can pay online prior to the due date or you can visit the Troop Dues & Fees Portal here: https://www.bsatroop3.com/about-us/dues-and-fees-portal/. If you choose to pay in full, you will not receive the square link. Refunds: Fees are refundable until May 8, 2023 less your deposit. After that date, the fees are transferable, but not refundable.
Registration: Any adults accompanying a Scout troop to resident camp must be a registered leader within the unit. So, if you plan on attending camp with your child, you will need to be registered with Troop 3/1003 at recharter. RSVPs are currently handled via the Square payment option meaning that your payment will act as your RSVP.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We will finalize high adventure selections prior to the first payment in January. If your scout is interested in attending, please have them look at the choices.
I have attached a copy of the High Adventure book to this post.
